A Hosted Walking Weekend , An Authentic Adventure
Escape to Numby- a stunning NSW sheep and cattle station by the Lachlan River at Reid's Flat in NSW. Guided walking, exceptional dining at historic Rosewood Cottage and luxury camping for groups of 6-8 people and private groups.
Immerse yourself in the Australian bush for the ultimate active long-weekend escape.
On your rove, you will be guided through rolling hills, forest and along tranquil creeks and see spectacular gorges not accessible to public hikers.
Along the way you might spot native birds, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas, goannas and of course sheep and cattle.
As we walk, we will share with you the story of Numby, it's settlement and agricultural history, and talk with you about our unique environment here and how we work with it in modern day farming.
Your group's individual experience is tailored to you, so whether you want to summit the highest hills and see all the best sights or spend more time relaxing by the creek with your favorite novel back at base camp, your rove at Numby will be unforgettable.
No ordinary basecamp.
Rosewood Cottage is a historic stone house built by early pioneering farmers and rescued from the brink of ruin (twice!)
Here is where we host your candle lit dinner parties and nourishing breakfasts. When it's cold you can choose to relax by the cosy open fire, or in warmer weather, enjoy an alfresco evening on the deck.
After a day of roving and a delicious dinner, you'll retire to one of 4 roomy bell tents, each sleeping 2 people. Your tent is generously appointed with a lantern for each guest, comfortable beds, premium quality cotton sheets and wool bedding. No camp stretchers and sleeping bags here, we'll even send you off to bed with a hot water bottle in the colder months! And most importantly - you'll enjoy luxurious hot showers and flushing toilets.
At Rosewood Cottage, we want you to feel a million miles away from everywhere, with no beeps, pings or rings to distract from the serenity.
It's all included and it's all top-notch, because to us, food is more than just fuel.
Our little corner of the country boasts some of the best produce in Australia and we are proud to bring you a menu filled with locally sourced and home grown ingredients. In particular, we have partnered with local grazier, Heulen Pastoral, to bring you the freshest wagyu beef and premium quality lamb.
From the first afternoon tea on your hike into basecamp, to a sumptuous farewell lunch on a secret river beach,
you'll enjoy the very best in wholesome country cooking, and warm hospitality.
Please note - if you have any dietary requirements, please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate.
