How many other guests will there be?

Long-weekends at Rove Numby cater for a maximum of 8 guests and require a minimum of 6 guests to run.

How much does a Rove Numby Package cost?

A Classic Walk/Stay/Feast long-weekend package is $1100 per person which includes everything except your gear and travel insurance.

If you and your group prefer not to walk we offer a Stay/Feast Long weekend for $800 per person, see more details here.

Our walk in, walk out Feast long lunches start at $120 per person, please contact us if you would like a quote.

Do we have to book as a group of 8 or can we book as a couple or smaller group?

You can book as an individual, a couple a small group of less than 6 or a full group of 8. When booking as a group we will ask you to nominate a contact person to coordinate communications.

What happens if less than 6 guests book on the date I've chosen?

If you are booking as a group less than 6 guests, we will do our utmost to fill the remaining spaces required for the date to run. If we're unable, your booking deposit will be held and transferred to another Rove Numby date that suits you, or if you prefer, your deposit will be refunded.

I'm booking on my own can I have my own tent?

Pricing is based on twin share, however if you prefer a single occupancy tent, we offer a singles surcharge option of $500

How far do you walk?

Day 1 is a 2 hour return walk over rolling hills (roughly 5 kms) with a half hour stop at the halfway point to explore and have a swim in warm weather. Day 2 is a full day rove, covering approximately 15kms with one major hill summit in the morning. The rest of the day is through river flats and rolling hills. Day 3 is approximately 7 kms covering both hilly and flatter country.

Are the walks hard? How fit do I need to be?

Some bushwalking experience is recommended as the hikes do not follow designated paths the whole time. There are some steep hill sections and uneven terrain. Our hikes are designed assuming a reasonable level of cardio fitness, endurance and agility. You do not need to be super fit- we take out time on hill assents, but you do need to be able to walk at an average pace for 6 or more hours and be agile enough to walk on rocky surfaces for part of the day. We will do our best to provide options to your group for faster and slower walkers however these are not always possible. Private groups can modify their walking route to suite their preferences.

Is there an age limit or any health restrictions for guests?

The minimum age for guests is 14.

If you are over the age of 75, and or have any serious health conditions, prior injuries or any disabilities that may affect you being able to safely complete the walks or maintain pace with the group, we require a doctors certificate outlining your condition and any possible risk factors at the time of booking. This is in the interest of your personal safety as well as the impact on the group as a whole. It does not mean you cannot come, but where possible, we may be able to tailor your Rove Numby experience to your needs.

How do I get there? and are there dirt roads?

Depending on which direction you are coming from, access to Rove Numby is either via Cowra from the North or Boorowa from the South. You will be sent detailed directions and a map when you book, please read these carefully and download or print prior to your departure as there is no phone reception, your map apps wont work and you will not be able to call if you are lost. The majority of the road is sealed. The final 1.3 kms is on a dirt road that is usually in good condition. Town cars will be fine on this road but we don't recommend taking the sports car.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Our menu is designed around the very best fresh, local, seasonal produce we can lay our hands on. Much of our menu is already gluten free and we are happy to provide gluten free options for those dishes that are not if required. We can offer vegetarian options on request, however, please be aware that unless your entire group booking requests a vegetarian menu, you will be sharing a table with non vegetarian meals being served. Please list your dietary requirements at the time of booking, any requests made after this time may not be catered for given our location and proximity to grocery supplies.

What should I pack?

When your booking has been received, we will send you a detailed packing list. The most important things include, shoes- some good, broken in walking shoes (not runners or brand new hiking boots you bought on the way, trust us, wear them in!) and some wet shoes such as crocs or reef sandals as your hike will take you through the odd refreshing knee-deep creek, a lightweight raincoat/poncho, lightweight daypack with adequate water bottles and whatever creature comforts you can't live without! Also to avoid bites and scrapes, we don't recommend wearing shorts, tights are good, long pants are best.

Can I bring my dog or my kids?

No. Dogs or pets of any kind are not permitted on Numby Station under any circumstances for biosecurity reasons. Children over 14 years of age can be booked as guests at Rove Numby however we are not able to cater to younger children at this time.

What if it rains?

We will walk in nearly all weather so bring appropriate protection from rain and cold. Layers are best. On the very rare occasion we receive a huge amount of rain leading to the river becoming swollen and blocking our access to Numby, the Rove weekend will be cancelled.

Are there toilets available on the walks?

It is old school spade and toilet paper on the walks during the day. There are 2 flushing toilets available at base camp.

My group would like more downtime and less (or more) walking, can we do that?

If you are booked as private group of 6-8, we are more than happy to tailor your Rove Numby experience. Please see the package information page for suggestions on added extras and alternatives. Please let us know when you book and we can work out the perfect itinerary for your group.

I cant go over the weekends, do you run mid-week walks?

As we are a small family run business, we are not able run mid-week walks given our busy farm family lives, however we would appreciate your feedback so we can consider this in future.

I love your venue can we use it for an event/ photoshoot/ another activity?

We would love to talk to you about your ideas! While we have some limitations on what we can offer we are very open to looking at other options.
