Experience the Lachlan River where our unregulated water runs wild and so do the fish. Murray cod, golden perch, silver perch and platypus all calling Numby Station home. This intimate 2-night adventure for up to four guests combines dawn and dusk fishing with luxury glamping. Guided by a local expert, this all inclusive adventure will suit both novice and experienced anglers. 

Fish by day and unwind by the fire under starry skies by night. Immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of Numby.

 

INCLUDED:

- 2 nights glamping twin-share accommodation at historic Rosewood cottage

- one afternoon/evening and another full day fishing over 3 different waterholes. Time on the river can be extended or shortened to your preferences. See the example itinerary below.

- Knowledgeable local guide and fishing instructor to suit both novice and experienced anglers.

- All fishing equipment, rods, lures (on a replacement basis- you replace what you loose), bait and your fishing license

- Hot Breakfast on the river beach after a dawn fish. An signature experience!

- Exclusive access to Numby, no other tourists!

OPTIONAL CATERING:

You can purchase a self-catering package to make your trip seamless and easy. A full catering package includes all your main meals, easy to heat and ready to serve breakfast, lunches and dinners. Please contact us for more detail.

BOOKING ONTO A COD AND COUNTRY EXPEDITION- things to know​

- Fishing at Rove Numby is strictly catch and release. We love these incredible fish and they are important to our environment.

- Prices are for up to 4 people

- Freshwater fish can be temperamental! while we do our utmost best to catch fish we cannot guarantee it. Your guide will share all their tips and tricks.

- Consider looking at our additional EXTRAS activities available if you would like to tailor your weekend with some other non-fishing fun

Expeditions are available early-mid December and February- May. Spring is closed due to it being the breeding season for Murray cod.

You will be asked to pay a $500 deposit up front to secure your booking and the remainder one month prior to your departure. You can pay by credit card or direct deposit. â€‹

Meet Brad

 

Brad has been fishing at Numby and the local area since childhood. He had keenly pursued fish his whole life and has fished on the Lachlan river the Abercrombie, the Fish River and many more.

Brad is passionate about conserving the Lachlan river biodiversity and to date his biggest trophy is a whopping  87cm Murray Cod caught at- kidding!!! a fisherman would never reveal their secrets... except to you if you come on a Rove Numby Cod and Country expedition!

Sample Itinerary

 

The planning and preparation is our job, all you have to do is pack your gear, and adventurous spirit and get on the road.​​​

DAY 1- Travel and fish Hogans hole

  • Travel to Numby Station in the morning, grabbing lunch on the way

  • 1:00pm Arrive at Numby meeting point. Park vehicles and transfer your luggage into the  support vehicle. Welcome, introductions and short briefing from Brad.

  • 1:30pm Get driven to Rosewood Cottage Basecamp and settle into the accommodation

  • 2-3pm Set off for Hogans Hole to fish until twilight or before. ​

  • 5-7pm Arrive back at Rosewood Cottage basecamp and farwell Brad until the next morning.

  • Enjoy the evening at basecamp. Either prepare your own dinner or enjoy the meal left ready for you to heat and eat by your hosts.
